ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10)---This week marked one year since the Federal CHIPS and Science Act passed. New York leaders at the state and federal levels are looking to make New York State a major hub of chip manufacturing in the country.The act was signed into law as a way to create more jobs and strengthen national security. Major chip manufacturing companies such as IBM and Global Foundries already call New York State home, and so will Micron, which has a planned investment of up to $100 billion in Central New York."Micron will be bringing direct jobs of over 9,000," said Hochul back in October of 2022."Indirect, over 50,000 to be the world’s leading manufacturer of semiconductor chips."Companies such as Edwards Vacuum, a semiconductor supply chain manufacturer, has also decided to come to the state. North Adams gymnastic coach arraigned on voyeurism charge

WATERBURY, Vt. (NEWS10) -- A North Adams gymnastic coach appeared in court in Vermont Thursday for arraignment on a voyeurism charge. 39-year-old Jonathan Girard is accused of having videos on his laptop of children changing in the bathroom of Central Vermont Gymnastics Academy. Girard claims someone installed them on his laptop, without his knowledge, while he was visiting a Vermont gym. He pleaded not guilty, and has been released under the condition that he will not have any contact with children under the age of 18.Girard is the owner of J Star Gymnastics in North Adams. NEWS10 has learned North Adams Police conducted a search of that gym, which appeared to be closed Wednesday. Girard's name now appears on the U.S. Center for SafeSport Centralized Disciplinary Database. The organization was created in 2017 to address abuse in sports. ...

(NEWS10) -- Fawn’s Leap Falls in Greene County has always been a local favorite for cliff jumping and swimming, but a recent social media spotlight has seen the area explode with tourists."Especially [during] COVID. Crane Street homicide suspect apprehended in Scranton

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A suspect linked to the homicide at 953 Crane Street is in custody. The United States Marshals Services arrested Bernard L. Alexander in Scranton, Pennsylvania. We have installed small, temporary window displays before, but this is the first complete off-site exhibit in our history. Casey's worker robbed at gunpoint in southern Illinois, suspect wanted

CARLINVILLE, Ill. - A suspect is wanted after robbing a Casey's employee at gunpoint early Friday morning in southern Illinois. The robbery happened around 5 a.m. Friday at the Casey's convenience store at 425 West Main Street in Carlinville, Illinois. St. Louis County prosecutor not licensed attorney, must resubmit 114 cases Investigators say the suspect was a man wearing a mask, black hoodie and dark pants walked into the store. The man took off with some undisclosed items, left the store, and then ran westbound. Police arrived at the scene shortly after the robbery, and a K-9 found a weapon and mask believed to be used in the robbery. Cook is the second Mizzou football athlete to score an NIL endorsement deal with Imo's.
